Our senior social studies Capstone trip to Iceland showed me the importance of balance. With help from our supervisors and guides, I saw sustainability from a personal, economic, political and environmental point of view. The people we met and their way of life emphasized that being environmentally sustainable doesn’t mean halting economic or technological progress, but rather finding ways to integrate them. Seeing how we directly affect the environment that, in turn, affects us showed me how important it is to live with nature.
